AURORA COLLEGE
TE MURANGA A RANGI – FIRE LIGHT IN THE SKY

Aurora College opened as a co-educational Year 7 to 13 school in 2005 so that the adolescents and young adults of South Invercargill could access a high quality secondary education in their local environment. Therefore, Aurora College aims to be the school of choice for the young people in its neighbourhood and a central focus of its community. We have no desire to become a large school, instead we want to be a very good smaller school in which all students get the chance to be known and to shine in their own unique way.

Easter dates - Good Friday (30 March), Easter Monday (1 April) & Southland Anniversary Day (2 April)

"It's not only the stars that shine"
Perserverance - Whanaungatanga - Citizenship

Aurora College’s philosophy is based upon the establishment and maintenance of strong, positive relationships between its students, staff, and community. Research shows that constructive relationships between students and staff are vital for success.

We have high expectations of our students and strive to ensure our school leavers are well prepared for the rapidly changing world they are going into and that they have developed the qualities they need for a successful future.

Our school is structured with the learner of today and responsible citizen of tomorrow in mind.
